STPM FAQ

March 16, 2010 Exam Tips by Calvin Chong Edit

Here are some of the FAQ of taking/studying/regarding STPM and examination grab form Malaysia Students.

1. Why did you choose to study Form 6 instead of A Level, Australian Matriculation etc?
Wasting time is the main reason people feel about going to Form 6. Yes I do agree if you are rich and can't wait to spend it on your overseas tertiary programme. And yes again I would say because Form 6 really is for hardworking people (with this sentence, I do not say and mean that I am one of those people...) I choose this path because the option to stay in local university (IPTA) and it is the only way to get into IPTA other than local matriculation. IPTA is real cheap (in either meaning). Futhermore STPM is globally recognised. So with good results you can further your studies in overseas and with excellent results you may even get scholarships!! A-level is another good option but the disadvantage is that you don't have the IPTA as your fall-back. SAM is easy (what I heard from ALL PEOPLE that had taken this exam and it's not my opinion). But SAM is recognised only for most Australian University and few university worldwide.

Why Home Tuition is Important?

March 08, 2010 Home Tuition by Calvin Chong Edit

Through the years, the academic setting has become less and less friendlier for students, especially for children. Although today, there are far better classrooms, more skilled teachers, and even tools like such printed materials, these—oftentimes—are not enough to change the fact that there is more pressure on the kid's shoulder. This is why it is very important to supplement this setting with tutoring as early as toddler hood years in school.

SPM Mathematics Tips

March 06, 2010 Exam Tips by Calvin Chong Edit

Brief Introduction
Mathematics (is also known as Modern Maths) and  AdditionalMathematics are categorized as thinking subjects which you take your time thinking rather than memorizing facts. The formula will be given at  the front page of the examination paper. Additional Maths is notably 4 times harder than Modern Maths. It’s like if students think Maths is shit, then take Add Maths. If you get 90% marks in Maths, you may have potential to get 40% marks in Add Maths. It’s near to impossible for someone who get A1 in Add Maths fail in Math. Well it’s not important. What I’m going to discuss at here is Mathematics.
